Food From The Heart: Avocado Yogurt

Used like a savory cracker dip for snack, this seems to be a favorite and is gobbled up (even licked off arms/legs where bits have dropped while eating)

Ingredients: Plain Greek yogurt (about 1-2 cups) Avocado (1-2 depending on flavor desired) Garlic clove(s), optional *food processor/blender Directions:

  1. Put yogurt, avocado, and garlic clove (if using) in blender/food processor and blend until smooth.

  2. Scoop out into a bowl and enjoy plain or as a dip for crackers.

Ideas:

  • Add more garlic or omit depending on flavor desired. We seem to really enjoy garlic so for a 2 cup yogurt recipe we typically add between 2-3 garlic cloves. *watch out for stinky breath, LOL!

  • Omit the garlic and use flavored Greek yogurt, like strawberry for a more sweet dip

  • Use any varieties (sweet or savory) as a healthy alternative topping for pancakes, waffles, toast, or sandwich spread. As I was typing this I thought, hmmm, avocado yogurt as a spread on a morning breakfast burrito would be DELISH!
